This bulb has a tungsten filament, but instead of the customary spiral shape, this one is very long and set in a glass bulb. The light it produces is not white-hot, but a softer light, not unlike that produced by the carbon filament bulb. It is, however, significantly more stable than the latter.
It should not be used with slim or completely enclosed lampshades because of the heat it generates. Height
