Bag and baggage.

The genuine American “Canoepack” was invented for storing and transporting the complete essential equipment for a boat trip. Our Canoepack and the slightly smaller “Daypack” are artfully manufactured in traditional manner from waxed cotton and saddle leather. All the seams and open selvages of the sturdy cotton body (600 g/sq m) are lined with cotton piping. For comfortable carrying, the stout cotton shoulder straps are padded with soft, vegetable tanned cowhide stuffed with wool felt. The length of the shoulder straps can be adjusted with a nine-eyed, 5 mm thick saddle leather strap. In combination with the packing strap below, the leather applications on the flap can store rolled up blankets, sleeping bags or even tents. A quickrelease fastener makes opening and closing the backpack easy: at the lower end of the flap, brass toggles button up the punched and slit upper ends of the closing straps.

Note:

The cotton body is only slightly waxed; in order to really make the backpacks immune to humidity, we advise re-coating with a special wax.
