Padded jackets and coats are on sale everywhere: nearly all of them made of cheap materials with dubious synthetic fillings - not to mention what they do to your personal appearance (the Michelin Man comes to mind!). We believe we can do better. Outside we've put a layer of Swiss EtaProof® cotton material, wind-proof and rain-resistant, manufactured by a special process that preserves the natural breathability of the cotton; inside, yes: a filling! But of Class 1 goose down, unbelievably light and warm, of a quality one normally associates with luxury eiderdowns. And to increase the comfortable feel, we've put the down quilting in the inside of the jacket. » shop now..

The ones here have been specially designed for winter wear, with Gallusser leather and non-slip profile English rubber soles, and are fully lined (including insole and tongue!) with thick lambs' fleece. The tongue is attached to the boot on one side, making it easier to put on. The half-boot may feel a bit tight when you try it on, but it will very soon ‘give’ when warmed by the foot.
Full-grain cowhide leather approx. 2 mm thick, 10% chrome and 90% vegetable tanned. Redenbach pit-tanned inner sole ( in German: ‘altgrubengegerbt’ ) leather, cork-reinforced ball of foot, metal joint, sole 10 mm thick. » shop now...

There are people who like things to be packed nicely, and this goes for laptop cases too. Why not bring a bit of style into the working day with an elegant carrier? After all, books look better in a decent binding! Here, it was easy for us (with our preference, as our customers know, for traditional, natural materials) to find the right Notebook case: it’s made by Ackermann, of top-quality German hides, with the leather mineral-tanned and aniline-dyed. This ensures that its beautiful natural grain is preserved, and that it is able to combine softness with durability. The 1.3-mm thick leather is lined with 3-mm thick felt for added laptop protection. » shop now...

All too often these days our choice of furniture falls into two categories - »nostalgic« or »trendy« - we are faced with a similar problem when it comes to lighting. Together with a number of established English, French, Austrian, German and Swiss light manufacturers, we are attempting to find a third alternative.

Designed by Markus Boge and Patrick Frey, this unique drawer doubles as filing-tray, odds-and-ends box or night table in bedroom, corridor, living- or work-room. The solid metal mount (see illustration) is fixed to the wall, and the drawer with its two inner grooves is simply slid on to it: slightly raised, its front side does duty as a handle.
Provided with rubber stops, so it can’t be pulled off the angled mount, which is made of 3 mm thick silver matt-finished steel plate. Body of drawer made of 9 mm birch ply-wood. » shop now...

A jumbo-sized, theft- and weatherproof post box. The slit is big enough for magazines and catalogues but too small for anyone to reach into. The box takes up to 70 litres of mail without overflowing, so no one need know you are away from home. When you are at home, you can reduce the volume by half by inserting a second base plate (included).
The letter boxes come with a device for fixing them in the ground; the steelsection feet enable you to raise the height. Both alternatives should be set in concrete. » shop now...

The renowned Lufft barometer factory was founded in Fellbach in 1881, and up to the mid-sixties made a variety of measuring instruments and barometers for both private and commercial use. In recent years the increasing mass-production of articles of this kind has resulted in a drop in quality and price. Lufft's wish to dissociate itself from this trend has led to a change-over to the construction of specialized electronic environmental survey stations and measuring instruments. Today Lufft is a successful high-tech company with a copybook business track record. » shop now...

One of the best known pens of the 20th century - the Fisher Bullet pen. In 1948 Paul Fisher started producing the first pocket ball-point. The solid chrom-plated barrel body has a timeless design and is only 9.5 cm long when capped, but is nevertheless easy to use. From 1968 onwards, Fisher developed, especially for NASA space missions, a hermetically sealed, pressured cartridge which prevented the ink from drying up (with the slogan ‘still writes after 100 years'). These pens are used by astronauts. The patented cartridge writes in space, under water, upside down, on greasy surfaces and in temperatures ranging from -34°C to +143°C. The pens are still tested by hand. » shop now...

Joseph Knize, one of its inventors lived in Vienna and was a supplier to the Royal and Imperial Court. The fragrance we offer, Knize Ten, has been available since 1925. The great author Hans Habe once said that, if he were cast away on a desert island, he would take Knize with him, since, for a man using a toilet water, it was really not so much a matter of undermining the morale of a beautiful woman than boosting one's own. The brilliant designer and poster artist Ernst Deutsch-Dryden played a decisive role in the composition of Knize. Knize was (and is) the most famous men's outfitter in Vienna. His shop still exists today with a much-admired interior, one of the great works of the architect and designer Adolf Loos. » shop now...
