Salad spinner.

In cooperation with the Funke Brothers, we have turned the plastic salad spinner into a stainless steel one. This is a mechanically driven salad spinner, where centrifugal forces dry washed lettuce quickly and efficiently. This handy device is made from 0.8-mm stainless steel, with a bowl 15.6 cm deep and 29 cm in diameter. Inside is a basket made of anodised aluminium, whose 526 perforations drain the water from the lettuce into the bowl below.
The basket is driven by an aluminium driving disk firmly mounted to the lid, whose 40 teeth lock into the corresponding grooves in the basket.
The driving disk in turn is set into motion by briefly and lighlty pulling the rubber grip on the end of the cord. Each pull of the cord changes the direction of the disk.
