The pin-lever fork operates, in conjunction with the hardened and polished steel mechanism, between the all-brass bottom plates. The spring barrels are re-placeable, as are the other components - all clockwork parts are hand-crafted from brass and cleaned ultrasonically prior to assembly. The clock face has a triple enamel coating and is hand-painted. In the Black Forest, these small wall clocks have been known as the »Double J« ever since a Swabian by the name of Jacob Jacob built the first one back in 1780.
