Single-layer safety glass, 8 mm thick.
Shelving systems like this one, mounted directly on the wall, offer far greater flexibility than ready-made bookcases or units. Spaces under the eaves and in corners can be used to the full. This shelving system was designed by Markus Freise and is far superior to any you will find in your local DIY store. Until now it has mainly been used for shop fitting - which we think is a great pity.
The whole system is based on narrow shelf uprights of different lengths (60, 100 and 200 cm) and brackets of two depths (20 and 25 cm). The height of the brackets is adjustable. The principle of combining bracket and upright is as inspired as the fitting and adjustment of the brackets is simple. The bracket is fitted into the slit in the upright by the bolt on its top and turned by 90° so that the top surface faces upwards. Then it is tipped downwards until the bracket peg also engages in the slit. Before anything is placed on the shelves, the brackets can be adjusted down to the last millimetre. It is the weight which locks the brackets safely into place.
(Illustrated instructions are included.)
We offer glass shelves of two depths (20 and 30 cm) and two widths (60 and 80 cm). They are made of 8 mm thick single-layer safety glass which is heat-treated after being cut and edged.
