Shetland wool.

The Shetland sheep is native to the Shetland Islands and produces the finest and softest wool available from Scotland. This ancient breed of sheep lives only on the Shetlands and has adapted to the harsh climate with its long winters and violent storms. No other breed of sheep produces a variety of colours equal to those of the 'peeries' - 11 main colours and about 30 mixes. Eribé knitwear has a dense, very soft, fleecy texture, which makes it warm, windproof and water-repellent.
To produce this effect, the knitwear is washed several times with soap in lukewarm water and dried. The wool fibre is not damaged during this process, as it is in felting. We have five undyed natural colours.
