Wool and felted wool.

There are three materials involved here: A double knit, stout yarn made of worsted pure new wool (2xNm 28/2) is spun or rather plated with a cotton thread (Nm 34) – in order to enforce the structure and enhance the moisture transport – so that the soft cotton is located on the inside, where it comes in contact with the skin. The heavily strained parts of the socks – sole, heel and toe – are additionally strengthened with a felted merino wool thread. This felted wool sole is especially abrasion resistant, transports moisture really well and insulates perfectly against the cold. The toes are hand-looped.
