Similar to the running shoe in its design and construction; with 15 cm, the top is higher than the ankle, though, and the lacing across ridge and heel exactly adjusts the shoe to the foot’s anatomy – it fits, as they say, like a glove. Sizes 5–12 in half-sizes.
The Brütting sports shoe has been made since the end of the Sixties and is an insider tip among connoisseurs and competitive athletes. It was developed in close co-operation between the Nuremberg shoemaker Eugen Brütting and several coaches and athletes and is today still »handmade in Germany«.
The shoes are constructed on a crescent-shaped last. The heel is surrounded by a soft border lining and the sole's edge and back are strengthened with rubber. The sole structure is produced in keeping with a conservative, traditional shoemaking method, which has nothing to do with most processes used today (foamed plastic with enclosed air or gel, etc.). The three-layer structure, with a hard-wearing rubber running sole, wedge and front-to-back middle sole made of cellular rubber, and the chrome-tanned leather insole provide a medium-hard step.
