Leather haversack.

Only one tannery in Germany still has the expertise to soak heavy quality leather. This is a difficult process: the vegetable tanned leather must be very dry before it is soaked in a bath of vegetable fat. The leather takes on a rich colour with a so-called »pull-up« effect. The high fat content makes it supple and easy to work with. All these characteristics make it ideal for harnesses, straps, belts and this haversack. It is shaped rather like a game bag with a strap all the way round.
