Olives and Laurel: Boiled Soap.

In Aleppo, olive oil soap was always enriched with laurel oil which is prized for its antiseptic effect. Laurel soap makes skin soft and smooth and works as a deodorant. It is also suitable for washing hair, and in Arab countries it serves as the basis for face masks. In a linen cupboard, the pleasant smell keeps moths away.
