English lavender water.

All men's fragrances are really descendants of the old »English Lavender«. It was first bottled around the end of the 18th century. »Oleum lavendulae« is won from lavender flowers by distillation with water. When dissolved in alcohol, it produces the old-fashioned lavender water. English lavender water, made from the stripped-off flowers of special lavender species grown around Hitchin (Hertfordshire), has always been considered the very best in Europe. Lavender water has a pleasant fragrance and is used as an invigorating and refreshing scent (like eau de cologne). It can also dampen the effects of migraine and nervouseness. This costly essence goes a very long way.
