The badgers which produce the hair for this shaving brush have their habitat in mountains over 3000 metres high. Their fur is even denser and their hair even finer and stronger than that of their relations who live a little lower down. In an extremely thorough selection process, even the darker silver tips are rejected. Height 10 cm, handle 3.3 cm dia.
Weight 55 g.
Even among shaving brushes made with the hair plucked from a badger's back, silver-tip hair is a valuable rarity. The hair in this brush comes from badgers from the Chinese highlands with a very dense fur. It is extremely fine but strong at the same time and thus serves its purpose of lathering up shaving soap particularly well.
These shaving brushes are elaborately made by hand, with the longest job being that of removing the hair which has no light or silver tip. The handles are made of Argentine buffalo horn. They are turned very carefully with an extremely high-speed machine to avoid the horn splitting and to close its pores at the same time. They are then sanded by hand and highly polished.
