Serious poker or black jack players expect their cards to be flexible, durable and mark resistant. It is also an advantage if they are moisture repellent. So most professional cards are either plastic-coated or made entirely of plastic.

These cards from the United States Playing Card Company - in business since 1881 - have all the above. The plastic-coated cards are more flexible, crease-proof and long-lasting. The decks come in a wider than normal size (63 x 88 cm).
