Bamboo with its outstanding bending strength is a material virtually predestined for a career as a badminton racquet; even more surprising that racquets of this kind are practically not in the market anymore (only in the U.S. did we find Chinese bamboo rackets for an incredible 4 $). Our racquets come from Taiwan and are significantly more expensive –but of such quality that our buyers who were to test the bamboo racquets found playing with a cheap standard set of badminton racquets a veritable punishment.
Head, shaft, and handle are made from bamboo; the shaft itself is reinforced by a fibreglass pole on the inside. Wooden bar end and nylon strings. Length 66cm, width 20,5cm. Weight 105g.

“Valuable wooden racquets have obviously ceased to exist,” or at least so we said once in our summer catalogue supplement (speaking of badminton rackets). And presumably we have told you the truth; the classic ash wood badminton racket had been lost at the time.
What we did not know then (and have unwittingly peculated) was that in East Asia - where badminton comes from - rackets are made from a material even better suited for the purpose: bamboo, or grass, so to speak.
