Fully assembled and ready-to-use Stirling engine The engine runs on spirit: one filling gives 20 minutes’ running time. Height 13 cm, base 16 x 11 cm. Weight 70 g.. Comes with detailed instructions for use and maintenance.
A miniature version of a working stirling motor that you put together yourself. Hermann Böhm, a Bavarian engineer, has been making these for 14 years. He uses the same sort of components as in the original Stirling engines – milled from whole metal pieces, rather than cast – and they run on spirit. Our model is one of the finest in the Böhm collection, combining aluminium, steel and brass parts. It comes either as a self-assembly kit – a special attraction, we imagine, to those of our customers who are interested in the working details of the ‘Hot Air Machine’ patented in 1816 – or, for the less mechanically-minded, as a slightly more expensive ready-to-use model.
