Grey cast iron, sand-cast by hand in a ‘lost' form. Screws and inner spike of brass. Height 18 cm, 33 cm diameter, neck interior 9 cm diameter. Weight 12 kg. Holds 5 litres. Suitable for trees up to 3.20 m. in height.
Something really special – its quality and good looks speak for themselves. It’s made of so-called ‘grey’ iron, a mixture of iron and carbon that allows the metal to be more delicately shaped than usual and in addition gives it a beautiful silver-grey shade. This effect is further enhanced by a special graphite surface treatment. Underneath there's a zinc coating to protect against rust. It weighs a good 12 kilos and, filled with water, can hold even fairly tall trees upright – the trunk is fitted on to a central spike in the base and fixed upright by three heavy brass screws at the top.
