A balcony box with a double bottom and several other sensible features. The first (false) bottom is positioned so as to allow enough water to be stored underneath to sustain the balcony plants growing above for a long, dry weekend. The water is sucked up little by little – just enough to keep the plant soil damp – by means of a terracotta uptake tube system. There’s also a water-level meter at the side so you know exactly how much is left and whether you need to top it up.
