    General Information

    Opulence in Every Detail.

Hack decided on a cut like a parka for this exceptional hooded jacket which is made up from chamois tanned deerskin in a more than opulent manner. Hack follows up this opulence with the required attention to the details. Thus, not only the zippers, snap fasteners, cord locks and eyelets are made of metal, the latter are also lined with cowhide. Sturdy cotton twill makes for a durable lining of the torso part of the jacket, and the viscose serge sleeve lining makes for easy donning and doffing.

    Please Note:

Slight colour variations are natural and due to the authenticity of the material.

    Hack. Leather Goods with Character.

Behind Hack Lederware you find Christoph Hack, founder and fine bag maker with a studio in Cologne. For decades he has been working with a wide variety of leathers. Based on this experience, he designs his garments. For example, Hack exclusively processes leather with natural surfaces from Germany, Italy and Scandinavia into hard-wearing, functional clothing and genuine accessories. This is why the selected skins from cow, horse and deer document traces of animal life such as insect bites or thorny cracks. Such a leather gains its much-desired patina by movement and frequent wearing and proves a magnificent example of what happens when a leather garment is allowed to age with honour. It is this natural ageing process that gives Hack jackets their unique look. They are made up at the Hack headquarters in Cologne and a Polish partner company.

Copes with Any Challenge: Chamois Tanned Leather.

The chamois tanning of buckskin is one of those old tanning methods that produce leather of unrivalled beauty and durability. Chamois tanned buckskin is soft, warm, almost woolly to the touch and temperature-balancing. When the tanners work animal fats and train oil into the skin, the protein fibres of the skin transform into leather fibres by oxidation. Following this, the colour is applied by hand in several steps. At the cut edges, the leather still shows at the reverse side the yellow typical of this type of tanning. We obtain the leather from the traditional Saxon tannery Müller in Nossen, founded in 1830.
