    General Information

    This package contains:

'Blauer Schwede ' Medium-early ripening, predominantly waxy variety with blue-purple flesh and blue skin. It has been cultivated in Sweden since 1880. The taste of the round-oval tubers can be described as strong and potato-like. Suitable as a jacket potato, baked potato or boiled potato and as an ingredient in salads.

'MehligeMühlviertler ' Medium-late maturing and, as its name suggests, floury cooking variety. The 'Mehlige Mühlviertler' has its origins in Austria. The round tubers with yellow skin and yellow flesh have a very good, buttery taste. It is traditionally eaten as a boiled potato, baked potato and mashed potato.

'Black Hungarian ' Old Hungarian variety from the late 18th century. The contrast between the dark, blue-violet skin and the light yellow, almost white flesh of the elongated tubers is interesting. Floury and creamy in taste, therefore particularly suitable for preparation as jacket potatoes or mashed potatoes.

'Weinberger Schloßkipfler ' Firm-cooking, medium-early old country variety from Austria. Its horn-shaped tubers are yellow-skinned and yellow-fleshed. They are characterized by a spicy taste and are suitable for preparation as roast, jacket and boiled potatoes and as an ingredient in potato salad.

'Almond potato ' This Finnish variety from 1953 originally comes from Lapland. The shape of the medium-late ripening, small tubers with yellow skin and yellow flesh is indeed reminiscent of almonds. With their creamy taste, they are perfect for preparing as mash or mashed potatoes.

'Angeliter Tannenzapfen ' This medium-late, tried-and-tested country variety comes from Schleswig-Holstein. Its firm-boiling, elongated and irregularly grown tubers have a pink skin and yellow flesh. Delicately spicy in taste, they are particularly suitable for roasting and salads.

    Product Information

    Article Number 212783

We have selected six traditional varieties worth preserving for this potato mix.
Contains one tuber of each of the varieties described opposite.
By the way: We are not allowed to offer you these tubers as seed potatoes because, as you may know, they would require special official approval. We therefore ask that you only put them in the cooking pot and not accidentally drop them into the prepared garden bed. (Because then more potatoes would grow from them - and that must not happen under any circumstances...)
