General Information
Japanese Design Meets Lithuanian Weavers. Fog Linen.
Living in Europe for a long time, Japan’s Yumiko Sekine has been searching in vain for some practical household textiles she remembered were part of the everyday life in Japan. So she decided to design her own collection. In Lithuania, she finally came across the right technical conditions required to manufacture her product line: Lithuania is one of the European regions richest in flax cultivation and linen processing traditions. Simply brilliant how Japanese design and Lithuanian craftsmanship can be combined to produce the carefully processed fabrics under the label Fog Linen.
Practical, but poetical.
All you have to do is slip into this pinafore to learn it the easy way: the idea of an apron without ribbons to tie is simple yet effective. No untangling of strings and no fiddling or straightening up to be done; the fabric, made from durable linen, lies flat against the body and is held in place by the shoulder straps. The two straps cross over each other at the back, thus ensuring all-round protection with a maximum freedom of movement. Wearing the pinafore, woven and tailored in Lithuania for Fog Linen/Yumiko Sekine, feels like to be clothed in a garment. You find a large pocket attached sideways to ensure that even filled nothing gets in the way of the back and forth in kitchen duty.
