Argan oil care soap

With the essential oil of Moroccan rose geranium, which nourishes and smells pleasant.

The purely vegetable argan oil care soaps are manufactured in the cold stirring process. They clean particularly mild by the rich superfatting with argan oil and care at the same time, are therefore also suitable for sensitive skin and skin prone to redness. With 10% hand-pressed argan oil as well as other pure vegetable oils such as nourishing olive oil (organic) and moisturizing coconut oil (organic) and rich shea butter (organic).

The traditional production of argan oil is literally in the hands of women. It is women who carry out the many stages of work by hand: from harvesting the fruits to peeling off the fruit pulp and cracking the nuts to grinding, kneading, and pressing the seeds. They grind the seeds in stone mills and press the resulting paste by hand. That is the most gentle kind of pressing – without any heating or excessive pressure, which otherwise might destroy the sensitive vitamins and effective ingredients. Finally, they filter the extracted argan oil carefully and restrain from any further processing. In his way, they reliably preserve all of the precious contents and the natural argan aroma.

The Moroccan Berbers have been using argan oil for thousands of years: The oil is an ever-present ingredient in the Berber cuisine and their body care products. In Europe, the valuable and rare oil has long since become an insider tip. For good reasons, because the creamy-nutty oil tastes delicious and contributes to protecting one’s health. The oil consists of over 80% unsaturated fatty acids, has a very high vitamin E content, and protects the human cell organism with its antioxidants. When applied to the skin, argan oil is quickly absorbed and leaves no greasy or shiny film. It moisturizes and has a positive effect on the skin’s tension. Even sensitive skin types or types or skin prone to irritation tolerate the oil very well. 

The precious liquid is extracted from the fruits of the argan trees (Argania Spinosa). The trees – threatened with extinction nowadays – grow only in an area in the southwest of Morocco, between the Atlantic Ocean, the High Atlas and the Anti-Atlas: the Arganeraie. UNESCO declared the Arganeraie a Biosphere Reserve in 1998 to protect the trees and listed the traditional production of argan oil that uses stone mills and hand pressing as Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) in urgent need of preservation. Argand’Or uses hand-pressed argan oil from the UCFA (Union des Coopératives des Femmes de l’Arganeraie), an association of over 20 women’s cooperatives. These co-ops secure the incomes of Berber families while preserving the social structures and the unique cultural landscape together with the argan trees.
