The most beautiful plants that need little water

General Information
Drought-tolerant ornamental plants. An overview
Even in very hot, sunny summers, your garden can remain a refreshing green oasis. This is because there are numerous ornamental plants that can manage with little water and thus easily survive a prolonged dry spell. They arm themselves, for example, with small leaves that reduce the plant's surface area and thus minimize evaporation (Patagonian verbena). Their silvery or gray leaves reflect sunlight so they heat up less overall (blue rue). They store water reserves in their thick-fleshed shoots (spurge), or fine hairs on their leaves maintain higher humidity to prevent dehydration (speedwell).
In this volume, nature and gardening book author Ursula Kopp introduces 66 plants that require little water and are suitable for creating a dry or prairie garden, designing sun-tolerant perennial beds, Mediterranean-planted terraces, and greening dry stone walls. A short portrait is accompanied in each case by the most important information on location, planting and care. This simplifies the planning - and you can start in principle directly with the implementation.
