Bread box Rehau Edition

A special edition of our bread box REHAU - glazed light blue and with a lid made of maple. Beautifully shaped ceramic, an ideal material for storing bread. The unglazed rough inner surfaces of the container retain up to 10 percent of moisture and slowly return it to the bread. In this way, and thanks to a low air supply, an ideal atmosphere is created for the stored goods, as the moisture content is perfectly regulated. The removable lid, which can be used as a cutting board, is grooved on one side, which gives the bread support when cutting and tames the crumbs.

Working with Kaufmann in Rehau in Upper Franconia always provides us with surprises and insights. In this case, we were amazed at the production of the special color glaze. The color extract is finely tuned with oxides and quartz and mixed by hand. Copper oxide, for example, is the determining element for the special green tone, and the addition of quartz gives the glaze its inimitable brilliance. Also at this point, one shows in the manufactory craftsmanship and passion for good products.
