    General Information

    From Norway. Mesh Underwear.

The Norwegian army commandant Henrik Brun won himself a place in history as the inventor of mesh underwear: In 1933 he sewed together his first set from worn-out fishing nets and then presented them to the assembled officers' club - including King Håkon VII. The spontaneous reaction of this select group has not been recorded, but Brun's idea must have caught on because the manufacturer Brynje from Larvik has been supplying all units of the Norwegian army since 1950. Today the shirts are made of long staple cotton and are manufactured for Brynje in Poland. Civilians, too, have learned to appreciate the advantages of this type of underwear, which keeps you warm, thanks to the thin layer of air trapped in the mesh, yet prevents a build-up of heat and can barely be felt on the skin. Of course, there are the people who can't be helped: they maintain that the mesh underwear is more appropriate for pigeon or rabbit breeders. And if miners appreciate the qualities of these clothes when underground, it's no wonder they wear them in their time off, too, – which should be looked upon as a compliment. We offer the Norwegian original, machine washable at 85°C.

    From Norway. Net underwear

The Norwegian army commander Henrik Brun has gone down in history as the inventor of net underwear: In 1933, he sewed his first outfit himself from discarded fishing nets and then presented it to the assembled Norwegian officers' club - including King Håkon VII. The spontaneous reactions of this illustrious circle have not been handed down, but Brun's idea certainly caught on on a broad basis, because since 1950 the manufacturer Brynje from Larvik has been supplying all units of the Norwegian army. Today, they are made of 100% long-staple, particularly sweat-absorbent cotton, which Brynje now has cut and made up in Poland. And civilian users soon learned to appreciate the advantages of this underwear as well: It warms through the thin layer of air bound in the meshes of the net linen, avoids heat accumulation and is hardly felt on the skin. And: In the Ruhr area, the net undershirt is ridiculed by (here, however, thinly sown) tasteless circles as professional clothing of pigeon and rabbit breeders, which, however, is nothing other than a great compliment: Miners wore it underground and just "inne Siedlung" too. We bring the Norwegian original.

    Machine wash at 85 °.
