Cotton blanket stripes

Elvang now also offers a small collection of cotton blankets and pillowcases. They are woven from pure GOTS-certified organic cotton in Portugal and, like the alpaca blankets, are also fairly produced. Blankets made of cotton are soft and do not scratch, so they are especially suitable for people sensitive to wool. Thanks to the breathable, absorbent material, cotton blankets are also especially comfortable in the summer. Moreover, cotton blankets are insensitive and easy to care for and can be put in the washing machine in between.
This cotton blanket is woven as a doubleface and is therefore slightly thicker. It warms in the cool evening hours and feels pleasantly soft even in direct contact with the skin. To the casually stylish blanket with surrounding eyelash fringes and graphic stripe pattern, which shows on the back side due to the weave against the same, we offer the matching pillowcases.

The Danish label Elvang stands for Scandinavian design tradition and textiles made from Peruvian alpaca hair – in the fibres’ country of origin. The idea came to Tina and Lasse Elvang, the brand’s founders, on a backpacking trip through Peru in 2002. When they came into contact with alpacas, their wonderfully soft hair and the traditional local textile craft, they found the entire package highly inspiring. They decided to venture into the collaboration of two worlds – based on ethical trade principles. A year later, they launched their first collection, and a global success story began. Mercantile integrity is still a high priority for the brand. Elvang is a “guaranteed member” of the World Fair Trade Organisation: the most elevated status conferred by the organisation.
