Curling comb wood
Sorb Tree and Service Tree: Hardwood for Haircare.
These combs made of two elastic hardwood species with outstanding qualities, namely the wood of the sorb tree and the service tree, are produced exclusively for us. These woods belong to the rose family and are related to pear wood (which has long proved its ideal qualities in the face of all microclimatic rigours in the inside of mouth organs). The wood is fine-pored, and thus relatively water-resistant, and flexible. The qualities of good (and well-processed) hardwood are convincing in many respects and ensure that the comb points massage the scalp pleasingly instead of scratching it.
Completely Hand-Crafted with Optimum Features. Combs Made of Wood.
Wooden combs by Groetsch are completely hand-crafted. They are made from the flexible, fine-pored and relatively water-resistant wood of the sorb tree and the service tree. The teeth are sawed separately and polished until completely smooth over the whole surface, including in the spaces between the teeth, where it is most important. The tooth base is carefully rounded and the points are as smooth as porcelain.
Ideal Hair Care. With Both: Wood and Horn.
A whole chemical industry makes attempts to combat it but it can often be remedied with simple and natural means, namely the excess grease in hair, its brittleness and roughness. Combs made of wood and horn are still the best helpers in the care of greasy hair, since they are affiliated to it. They absorb excess skin grease and take it where it is most needed, namely to the tips of your hair. Since these materials barely charge hair electrically, irritation of the pilomotor muscle which controls the grease supply by the sebaceous glands is avoided. At the same time, hair is gently untangled and smoothed. Our selection of combs also features the highest possible processing quality – only in this way can hair be combed gently. The comb teeth and spaces between the teeth are carefully sawed, rounded and polished in processes appropriate to the relevant material – for horn and wood, ebonite and cellulose acetate.
