A landmark American: the Estwing.
The best hammers in the world are made by Estwing in Rockford, north-west of Chicago. Estwing has been manufacturing them since 1923, simply by adhering to the "highest possible standards". The head and handle are forged from one piece, which makes for a rugged tool. The shock resistant handle consists of dozens of extremely fine strips of leather which are inserted into the spreading diamond shaped profile of the handle. The leather is completely non-slip. The hammer head is polished to a sheen.
