Folding Stool Made of Oak Wood
Makes itself useful, makes itself small
The stool is a small piece of furniture of considerable, but mostly temporary use. In other words: when you need it, it should be quickly at hand. When you don't need it, it should take up as little space as possible. The concept of the folding stool takes this idea into account. Here comes one - of clear shape (a closeness to the tradition of Shaker furniture is definitely recognizable) and opulent materiality. It is made of solid oiled oak, two rock-solid brass hinges connect the split seat, and the included solid wall hook with a partially knurled surface is turned from the solid material (also brass). A strong strap of vegetable-tanned, undyed leather further enhances stability in use.
Form & Refine. Danish design
Form & Refine is a Danish design label founded in 2018 by Helle Herman Mortensen, Jonas Herman Pedersen and Lasse Lund Lauridsen. It exemplarily follows the Scandinavian design tradition and continues it at the same time. A central point is the harmonious combination of aesthetics, function and material. The designs are clear and restrained, function leads to form and the pure materials, which are allowed to retain their original visual details and forms, are processed with perfect craftsmanship. This is always done in the countries of origin of the materials, which shortens transport distances and at the same time supports the local craft culture.
