Fountain Pen Made of Brass by Loclen

An originally designed fountain pen made of solid brass, optionally with raw or with burnished surface. The screw cap, screwed on backwards, serves as an extension in writing mode. The filling mechanism is inventive, or rather the way the design turns a fountain pen operated by a converter into a piston fountain pen: the barrel is perforated in the middle and at the upper edge, the central viewing window serves to check the filling level. The two windows at the upper end allow access to an externally knurled brass ring, which is plugged onto the end of the converter located inside. This allows the filling of the converter without having to remove it.

In Italy, more precisely near Venice, Loclen has been manufacturing high-quality brass writing instruments since 2008. All barrel parts are turned on-site from solid material, then partly knurled or brushed; the visible brass parts are left raw. The company sources the nibs, refills and mechanisms used from various German manufacturers; however, Loclen – Carlo Vazzoler, owner and creative head, places great importance on the point – produces entirely in Italy.
