The construction of this garden kitchen resembles what used to be called a „rough kitchen“, formerly used outdoors or inside. It was designed by an architect from East Westphalia based on a framework of hot-dipped galvanized L-shaped steel connected with stainless steel screws and (depending on the module) fitted with a sink with a faucet or three weather resistant trays made of larch or concrete. The system offers (almost) everything one expects from a kitchen: Cooking area, sink, work surface and storage. With the appropriate set-up it can also serve as a wash basin, where freshly harvested fruit or vegetables can be cleaned and washed, or as an extension of the work surface in the garden with a wash basin and plenty of shelf space.
The Grill Module.
The grill is built using the chimney principle, ensuring a rapid stoking of the coals and is ready to cook within fifteen minutes, without resorting to combustion aids or bellows. Which also reduces the consumption of charcoal. All parts of the grill are made of stainless steel and with thicknesses of one millimeter and more they are practically indestructible. The electro-polished cooking grid is especially easy to clean and food-safe. The coal tray under the grid is removable; ashes end up in the small box beneath the chimney which can also be removed for disposal of the ash and cleaning. A stainless steel hood protects the grill from dirt and moisture when it is not in use. Side panels made of galvanized steel protect add-on shelf elements from the grill heat.
All parts are made in East Westphalia. The concrete wash basin and work surfaces are poured individually and the molds are shaken in order to enhance the material thickness. They are stored in their forms at 20 °C for 24 hours, removed from the forms, water-treated for a week, and then dried out for three weeks. After about four weeks concrete passes the „hardness test “.
The module is delivered in pieces (struts, frames, work surfaces and sinks with pre-assembled fittings). Delivery free to the curbside with separate shipping costs. You can receive a stainless steel angle with an oblong hole to adjust the grill for height from our special order department.
Stainless steel will change in color when exposed to heat. This is not dangerous and has no consequence for food safety.
