Hack Sailcloth Jacket
Canvas. Made into a jacket.
Sailcloth canvas, as it is used in the Swiss Army for tents, is the material used for this casual jacket. It comes from a Hessian weaver, specialized in technical fabrics, who makes them unoiled, but otherwise true to the original. The heavy, particularly densely woven, two-ply basket weave fabric has a rough texture, yet it is not stiff or hard. Moreover, pre-washing has made it a little softer. It swells when moist, making it water repellant (in moderation). The upper collar and sleeve straps of the green and beige jacket are made from tanned deerskin and from nubuck cowhide leather in the anthracite model.
