    General Information

What is a neat bread, that should also accommodate neatly. At least, that was our request when we looked around the Westerwald for a pottery that would make a bread pot suitable for our much vaunted sourdough bread. You can see the beautiful result here: Not only for storing bread and rolls you can use our bread pot made of Westerwald clay. The top part may also serve as a bread basket or baking dish and the bottom part as a serving platter.

    Preserves bread. And taste

The size of this bread pot is chosen so that the sourdough bread from our bakery can fit in it. Good ventilation is provided by the fluting in the base and three holes under each of the lid handles. Moisture can escape without the bread drying out. (If mold does form, the glaze can be wiped off with highly diluted vinegar water.)
Lids and bases made of genuine Westerwald clay are fired in an open fire at temperatures of around 1.250 ° C burned smooth and ovenproof, the lid can therefore also serve as a baking dish, the bottom as a serving platter, the lid in addition, since it also lies flat upside down, as a bread basket.

From Westerwald clay. Pots for bread and butter. And for vegetables

In Ransbach-Baumbach, in the Vorderer Westerwald, where the highest quality clay deposits in Europe are located, is home to the pottery in which these vessels are created. The family business can look back on 150 years of tradition in working with clay - here it is genuine Westerwald clay, sought after for its light coloration and fine plasticity. Densely sintered, fired and glazed, it is non-porous and waterproof, so easy to clean, while impact-resistant and edge-stable.

    Hint:

This product is an example of genuine handicraft; therefore, minor deviations in size and colour may occur.
