Hard to Come by: Horse-hide Leather Coats.
These ‚roadster‘ jackets are made of
French hide, which is then processed in
Italy to produce a thick (almost 1 cm),
yet soft and comfortable leather, tanned
to give a gentle matt shimmer. A
deep-dye process is used, and the leather
is then polished to give a blackbrown
tone with a warm, vibrant inner
glow. Made for us by Hack in Cologne.
Care of your jacket:
like all deep-dye leathers, is
tough. All you need is a soft cloth and
Tapir leather-care cream (from our range).
Horse leather is, like
all dyed leather, impervious to most
things. Should the need arise, we recommend
treating the leather using a
small amount of leather care cream applied
with a soft wool cloth.
