Merino wool blanket rib knit

The Westerwald knitting specialist Seldom is known for exquisite knitwear. This blanket also shows the experience of many years both in the knitting technique and in the handling of the valuable material. For this blanket in rib knitting pattern Seldom uses pure Argentine merino wool from controlled organic farming (kbT). The yarn is spun in Biella, Italy, a traditional textile region of Italy. When knitted, the block stripes are created by using five colored yarns: a base color that runs through, and four other colors with which it blends in block stripes. This results in less vibrant tones than if the colors were knitted individually, so the blanket can be used for many interior styles. After knitting, the blanket is pre-washed, which gives it an even softer and voluminous feel.
By the way, knitted blankets offer a small advantage over woven ones: even though they have the same basis weight, knitted blankets are slightly warmer because they are more voluminous due to the intertwined yarns and can therefore trap even more heat-insulating air. Often they also nestle even better, especially if the material used is such fine and soft merino wool as here.
