Merz beim Schwanen. Tradition Revived.
The hosiery manufacturer Merz beim Schwanen has existed since 1911 in the Swabian Alps, once the traditional textile area of Germany. The tradition has recently been revived by a firm belonging to the Berliner, Peter Plotnicki, who is now having his shirts made where they used to be made: on the Alp.
