Nanette Herz was a farmer, a master of home economics and the boss of the long-established inn "Bauhof" in Cadolzburg in Middle Franconia. For decades she was responsible for feeding guests and family members. She cooked only with the best seasonal ingredients, most of which came from her own farm and harvest. This cookbook, published by the Cadolzburg book publisher ars vivendi, was created in memory of Nanette Herz. Her children and grandchildren have contributed not only the recipes, but also historical photographs, handwritten notes from the family archive and anecdotes. More than one hundred recipes have finally become, from Franconian asparagus salad and Knoblauchsländer Lauchstrudel to beef rouladen, "Schäuferla" and the indispensable dessert classic Apfelkrapfen.
