The Organic Company kitchen apron

In simple, yet highly functional design, the Scandinavians are hard to beat. This is demonstrated perfectly by "The Organic Company". Those everyday and supposedly no longer improvable things, like bath and kitchen towels or kitchen aprons, represent the icing on the cake, through the addition of a small and simple detail: a band sewn on one side, not continuously, but at regular intervals – about every 10 cm. This creates loops that serve as a flexible hanger, but above all, the end of the towel can be threaded through and fixed here when the towel is wrapped around the head or body.

The cotton fabric of the cloths is light, has a large surface due to its herringbone weave and can, therefore, absorb a lot of moisture – but also dries quickly.

This is also proven by "The Organic Company", which puts the icing on the cake of even such simple and supposedly unimprovable things as bath and kitchen towels or kitchen aprons by adding a simple little detail: a ribbon attached to one side, which is not sewn on continuously, but in spots at regular intervals - about every 10 cm. This creates loops that serve as flexible hangers, but most importantly, the end of the towel can be inserted here and find support in it when you wrap the towel around your head or body.

The Danish textile label “The Organic Company” stands for a commitment to functional design and responsible utilization of natural resources. To implement this dual approach, founder Joy Vasiljev sources the cotton for her textiles exclusively from controlled organic cultivation. Even the sewing threads – which is not a given in cotton textile products – are made of cotton. Since 2010, she has all her textile articles certified according to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). Hence, one can be sure that all items are made from all-natural materials and dyed in an environmentally friendly way. What’s more, meeting the GOTS implies regular monitoring of the entire production chain and guarantees fair working conditions. When creating the product designs for “The Organic Company”, Vasiljev collaborates with Danish textile designers. Evident in the results is Vasiljev’s key objective: textile goods featuring such a thoughtful and appealing design that whoever uses them will enjoy them and, notably, use them for a long time.
