Parasol stand oak wood

Out of wood parasol stands are rarely made. The following is a laudable exception in that the feet and umbrella tube are made of local oak. A wood turner and carpenter in Berchtesgaden initially makes five individual parts per piece from the wood - four cantilevered feet and an umbrella tube - which can be joined together in just a few simple steps to form an extremely stable whole. A single wing screw, which is inserted centrally on the underside of the construction, is therefore sufficient for fixing. You won't find any concrete or stainless steel in this construction - just to the advantage of the owner, who can move his parasol stand from one place or stand to the next, i.e.: carry it, without much effort thanks to the lower weight (and also disassemble it into all its individual parts again for space-saving storage in winter). On the umbrella tube with 42 mm diameter is a sleeve made of bright brass, the wooden surfaces are treated with UV protection oil to protect against graying.
The model for this parasol stand was found a few years ago in the coach house of an abandoned villa from the 1920s, which belonged to the family of our supplier. At first, the model, originally made of African wood, was only copied for personal use and as a gift. It must have taken some time until a business idea grew out of it. Now you get the parasol stand also with us.

Due to the high tannic acid content of oak wood, blue-black discoloration can occur on the wood surface in combination with moisture and in contact with ferrous metals. In addition, the so-called tannins can be washed out by rainwater and stain surfaces and adjacent materials.
