General Information

Pike Brothers. Tried and Tested but Not Stuck in the Past.

The Pike Brothers label from Bad Feilnbach in Upper Bavaria proves with garments inspired by textiles from the world of workwear that form and functionality are not mutually exclusive. While creative minds in other companies have to work out their cuts, the Pike Brothers collect, dissect and finally reconstruct historical originals from a wide variety of workspaces. Different material requirements and cuts are taken into account on a one-for-one basis. Fabrics are reissued in collaboration with traditional weaving mills. Finally, the Pike Brothers have the garments made by hand from selected European tailors. The resulting products tell a story by dint of their appearance. Moreover, they are proving themselves in practice, just like their historical role models did, to be highly functional and to offer the highest comfort – no matter what the activity.

Product Information

Article Number 28181

100% cotton (10 oz). Comfortable cut with a straight leg. Buttoned fly. All buttons, the D-ring and the clasp in the back are made of metal. With six wide belt loops. Foot width approx. 44 cm. Made in Turkey. Other than rinsing the heavy fabric in clear water in order to reduce shrinkage, the pants have not been otherwise treated. Available in American jeans sizes in inches.

"Duck Canvas". Fabric with character.
Pants for hunting or work in the fields, forest and meadows were made in Sweden until the 1940s from "duck canvas", a rugged cotton fabric. The stiff material didn’t wear out so quickly but was still comfortable to wear. Reinforcements made of heavy yarn shore up the exposed spots at the corners of pockets and belt loops; all seam allowances are exact and furnished with additional lockstitch seams. A feature from the 1940s is the "cinch back", the strap in the back for adjusting the waist of the pants.

An article of daily use: pants for outdoors. Details from back then.
In spite of the rugged material the pants are truly comfortable, without constricting. The rivet buttons for attaching the suspenders are a detail that hearkens back to the 1940s, like the "cinch back", the strap in the back for adjusting the waist. Reinforcements made of heavy yarn shore up the exposed spots at the corners of pockets and belt loops; all seam allowances are exact and furnished with additional lockstitch seams.

A couple of additional details: there are two reinforced reach-in pockets in the side seams and roomy hip pockets.
