Planter Vase d'Anduze
You find the famous planters from the Cévennes town of Anduze often decorating the dapper gardens and grand front entrances of regional castles and mansions – usually planted with an orange or lemon tree. As a symbol of a centuries-old pottery tradition, such jardinières characterize the look of Anduze to this day. According to legend, their shape goes back to vases popular with the Florentine Medici. However, the French potters soon moved away from those models’ lavishly overloaded garland decoration and instead designed a much more restrained style, as with this plant pot. Terracotta from the Cévennes typically comes in a brownish yellow – and this rich, vibrant green.
This product is an example of genuine handicraft; therefore, minor deviations in size and colour may occur.
Make sure to place your planter in the cold season protected (in the best case indoors) to preserve the glaze and avoid chipping by frost action as much as possible.
