A good hairbrush gently detangles the hair and at the same time nourishes it by absorbing the natural fat (the sebum) that accumulates at the root of the hair and brings it to the dry ends. This makes the hair shiny and ensures that the hair ends do not split so quickly. Really efficiently this is done only with natural bristles, which are similar to the hair in structure. This brush with strong boar bristles, which are drawn into a soft cushion of natural rubber, is therefore particularly suitable for gentle care and cleaning of the hair, as well as for a soothing head massage. The bristles are lined up at different heights for better distribution of sebum. The brush body is made of beautifully grained, finely polished and oiled olive wood. Its ergonomically shaped handle fits comfortably in the hand and is also pleasant to the touch.

Maison Fournival Altesse is one of the French traditional brushmaking companies. Since 1875, the family business based in the heart of the Thérain Valley in northern France, the former center of French brush and broom manufacturing, has been active in this craft. In the beginning, the company primarily produced toothbrushes, but from 1920 onwards Fournival Altesse specialized in hair and beard brushes. Since then, the major fashion houses, well-known hairdressers and manufacturers of hairdressing supplies are among the customers, for which in the meantime also in larger series industrially produced. However, one of the main focuses has remained the traditional handwork, which allows the customized production of high-quality, long-lasting hairbrushes. For the brushes in our range, Fournival Altesse uses only natural materials: finely polished, oiled olive wood for the body and handle, and pure boar bristles for the trim, which is pulled in by hand.
