Pressure fish

When it comes to beautiful fish, the Danish printer has it covered. He takes these reprints from historic scientific works. Looking for natural history illustrations, he found the journal of Godeffroy museum, a publication for geographic, ethnographic and scientific research published between 1873 and 1910. The Hamburg periodical released these illustrations of fishes in the context of a piece on the South Seas.

In Denmark, these reprints of natural history illustrations are made from historical scientific works. The illustrations of the fishes of the South Seas are from the Hamburg "Journal of the Museum Godeffroy" published in the transition to the 20th century - a publication for geographical, ethnographic and natural scientific communications published between 1873 and 1910. We have selected illustrations of various small and marine creatures from Ernst Haeckel's scientific work "Kunstformen der Natur" (Art Forms of Nature), which was published in ten volumes between 1899 and 1904 and attracted attention not only in scientific circles but also in those of the fine arts.
What we particularly appreciate about these Danish prints is the fact that the reproducer's interest is focused solely on the time-honored craft of nature illustration, resisting the temptation to add artificial signs of aging to the paper, such as yellowing or coffee stains. He reworks all the illustrations and restores them to their presumed original state.
