Swedish table runner red 50 x 150cm

Ekelund, a family business in Horred, south of Gothenburg, is one of Scandinavia's oldest weavers. The quality of its goods convinced the Swedish royal family more than a century ago - since then Ekelund has been Royal Court Supplier. This Christmas table runner (tablecloths and napkins for it we also offer) is matched, that is, woven with a surrounding pattern and in the respective width, so that the long sides have smooth selvedges.

The red Christmas table linen has a long tradition, the jacquard woven, typical Scandinavian star pattern is probably more than 200 years old and is woven at Ekelund for many decades. The warp in a strong red determines the basic tone, the contrasting patterns are created by the undyed linen yarn in the weft. The table runner is made in half-linen quality, it is robust, durable and keeps its shape. The warp is made of cotton yarn (yarn count Nm 20/2), the weft is made of linen (yarn count Nm 30). The linen yarns Ekelund obtains from France and Belgium, two countries from which come the best qualities of flax.
