Hand-worked 925 sterling silver plates, coated with ruthenium.
Plates 15 x 15 mm. Necklace with magnetic clasp. Necklace length 42 cm. Weight 30 g.
Circle to square. Geometrical forms.
This necklace is made of silver square plates that are made so thin that they can be cut with plate shears. Each of the 25 plates is cut separately, soldered and afterwards matted. Finally, the delicate squares are galvanized for their final look. Some of the plates, the light ones, are made of coated silver. The silver is coated with ruthenium, a silver-white hard and brittle platinum metal, which is rarely found in nature and is hard to extract. This material is used mainly in the electronics industry. Made in Warsaw.
