Tea towel structural fabric

This dish towel made of strong, absorbent linen combines different weaving techniques. These give the fabric a special look and feel which are enhanced after washing. The fabric shrinks by approx. 5%, although the different weaves shrink to a different extent. The honeycomb weave, for example, only develops its three-dimensional structure after the first wash, whereas the plain weave barely changes. The different weave types also serve different purposes in the kitchen. Voluminous weaves with long floats ensure greater absorbency; the larger surface area also means this kind of fabric dries more quickly. Densely woven, grainy cloths are ideal for polishing glass while double-layered woven cloths trap lots of air and can occasionally replace oven gloves or be used to carry hot pots or plates.
