How to Move on a Slope.
Animals are familiar with the principle: the best way to keep things under control is to make use of gravity. If you put a horse, say, on a slope, it will allow itself to be guided downwards by making purely mechanical leg movements dictated by gravity. Toy manufacturers have followed this principle for centuries, so we’ve been able to use beautiful historical models that are hand-made in the Dresden area. These are classic ‘toys’ of the kind that grown-ups like to play with too!
