The cross is formed only in the viewer. The vertical consists of a light side and a dark side. The brass plate was dark patinated as a whole, then one side was polished. Light and dark are close to each other. They are connected by a narrow cut out line. The tarnished and the shiny gold are crossed. This is the reality of life. Light and shadow can quickly follow one another. What was golden in one moment appears shadowed in the next. Darkened doesn't have to be the ultimate reality; it can be changed. Coping with life is ultimately something like a breathing line of the "in-between" (P. Abraham).

The verticals of this object emerge from a dark and a light side. The brass plate was treated with a patina, and then one side was partially ground. Light and dark are in close proximity. They are connected with a narrow slit which forms a perpendicular line, creating a crucifix in the eye of the beholder.
