From the Wieser family business, located in Wachau (Burgenland, South Austria), comes this handmade preserve, which follows the tradition that almost every household in the Wachau cans its preserves itself. We offer you four basic preserves that taste, in the best sense, simple and homemade. For preparing preserves only fully ripe fruit are directly frozen after harvest and canned on demand with a preserving sugar – in small batches of ca. 12 kg that each produce approximately 70 jars. The fruit are cooked very briefly, strawberries and blackberries five to six minutes, apricots (the most popular fruit from the Wachau) around eight minutes, and rhubarb approximately ten minutes. The fruits are not blended; consequently, whole pieces remain intact, which adds essentially to the fresh fruit taste.
