HempAge. Hemp Fashions.
For very good reason, hemp was once the material of choice for clothing. Quite apart from wearer comfort being a feature of garments made of hemp, the ecological balance speaks in favour of its use, since hemp plants require neither pesticides nor herbicides. They are self-sufficient, do not require irrigation and their deep rooting systems help loosen compacted soil. The HempAge label, based in the Franconia region in Germany has therefore decided to restore hemp to its rightful place, even if producing hemp fabric is still several times more expensive than cotton. As a logical extension, HempAge dedicated some of their efforts to research in technologies which would enable a more efficient use of the hemp plant. The HempAge collection emphasises a timeless style, in keeping with the longevity of the hemp fabric used in its creations.
